The Southwest Advanced Prototyping (SWAP) Hub offers a comprehensive suite of test and modeling services to evaluate materials, devices, packages, and full systems across a wide range of environments.
These capabilities are designed to accelerate development, reduce risk, and ensure reliability for mission-critical applications.
Reliability Testing
The SWAP Hub offers advanced reliability testing to assess how components and systems respond to stress over time. These services help identify potential failure points early and validate long-term performance.
Capabilities include:
- Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT)
- Highly Accelerated Stress Testing (HAST)
- Thermal shock testing
- Mechanical shock testing
Radiation Effects and Extreme Environment Testing
Microelectronics operating in aerospace, defense, and other high-performance environments must withstand radiation and extreme temperatures. The SWAP Hub provides comprehensive testing to simulate and measure these conditions.
Radiation testing includes:
- Total Ionizing Dose (TID): gamma sources (Co60, Ce137), 10 to 160 keV x-ray, electrons, and protons
- Displacement Damage: protons and neutrons
- Single Event Effects (SEE): protons and heavy ions
- Pulsed and Electromagnetic Effects: flash x-ray, 20 to 160 keV x-ray, electrons (LINAC), and electromagnetic pulse testing
Extreme temperature testing:
- Temperature range from 4 K to 500 C
- Capabilities supported by ASU and JPL
